My name is Dave Seaney. I am a playing card collector who also enjoys history and genealogy. I refer to myself as a "Playing Cardologist," a specialist in the study of American playing cards. I have combined these interests to write stories and gather information about the history and people involved in playing cards. This has now expanded to include American made games that use their own unique playing cards. These games usually cannot be played with standard cards and sell as a complete, standalone product. They are technically called proprietary card games or simply dedicated card games. For example, the games of Rook, Pit, Flinch, Question & Answer games, Conversation cards, Baseball, etc. |

My research is based on as much first-hand information as I can find. I utilize legal documents, trade papers, newspapers, catalogs and personal information from connected family historians or descendants.
As a member of 52+Joker, the largest playing card collector club in the world, I also have access to many other experts. I believe my research is more correct and informative than what has previously appeared, but not the final research. I am always trying to expand my information.
